Developing a framework and designing urban pedestrian paths with an emphasis on the social participation of citizens (Case study: Hakim Nizari Street in Birjand)

Abstract

The pivotal pedestrian movement, strengthening pedestrian movement in urban spaces and creating pedestrians are ways to reduce the effects of problems such as traffic problems and slowing the flow of vehicles, drastic reduction of parking space, increasing the use of fossil fuels and social problems such as vitality and restoring the position of pedestrian movement to urban space. Pedestrians, as passageways with high social roles and limiting the movement of riders, are in fact a way to reclaim public roads, especially valuable urban spaces that have cultural, historical, commercial and recreational attractions for pedestrians, from vehicles and give it back to humans in order to move, social interactions and recreational, tourism and commercial activities. Today, the necessity of citizens' participation in improving the situation of cities is not hidden to anyone. The aim of this study was to improve the quality of urban space of Hakim Nizari Street in Birjand by converting it into a city pedestrian which is designed with the participation of citizens. The method used in this study is an applied method which has been done by descriptive and analytical method. In order to collect the required data, field study of the desired area and questionnaire in the field of survey of users of Hakim Nizari Street in Birjand, as well as documentary and library surveys, documents and maps have been used and finally, according to the obtained information, the weaknesses and strengths, opportunities and threats in Hakim Nizari Street have been investigated and then analyzed for parsing. One of the most important results of this study is creating urban identity in Birjand, booming social interactions and increasing the level of people's satisfaction through this important issue.
