Abstract

Issue statement: Different forms of micro-spaces in buildings with different uses such as schools, inns, houses, etc. have created different access hierarchies and circulations. Over time, schools with various forms of structures have emerged.
Different uses in each micro-space have resulted in a variety of circulation and access
patterns. Isfahan market has a variety of schools with various shapes and sizes in their
plans and small spaces. One of the questions that arises is: what are the characteristics of
the geometric structure of the school plan in the same market, and what are the
distinctions? Another question raised in this regard is what is one of the architectural arrangements in the building plan to make the most of the plan spaces?
Objective: The purpose of this paper is to investigate the impact of the morphological
diversity of micro-spaces on the circulation of historical schools associated with the main
passage of the Isfahan market.
Method of investigation: The data of this research are selected based on the existing plans, construction and retrieval, and after redrawing, the shape of each section is examined separately and its use is determined.
The present study has analyzed geometric proportions using written sources, visual documents and maps and then using a comparative study.
The statistical population of this study is schools related to the main passage of Isfahan market, which is based on purposeful (non-probable) sampling method, index buildings in terms of geometric shape, spatial composition, number of entrances and mezzanine form, number of floors and period Historical attributes have been selected and researched in the scope of the ground floor plan.
